Hendersonville, the City by the Lake is the largest city, and Gallatin, voted The Nicest City in America in 2017 is the county seat. If you are looking for a more rural out of the city limits type setting, then consider Cottontown, Bethpage, or Castalian Springs...be sure to visit Bledsoe State Park. Robertson County is north of Nashville just up I65. Springfield is the county seat...make plans to walk around the the historic town square. Other cities include Adams, you can float the Red River that will take you by the Bell Witch Cave, Cedar Hill, Greenbrier, Ridge Top, Cross Plains, Orlinda, and parts of Millersville, White House and Portland. You know it's fall in Robertson County when you see all the "smoking tobacco barns." Wilson County is east of Nashville off of I40. Lebanon is the county seat and is home of the Wilson County fair and the Tennessee State Fair...these are must do's! Mount Juliet is the largest city between two lakes, Old Hickory and Percy Priest Lakes. It has some of the best retail and restaurants in Middle Tennessee, and it just a short 15 minute commute to BNA airport. Wilson County also offers smaller more rural areas such as Watertown, Gladeville, Tuckers Crossroads, and LaGuardo.
I am very familiar with the schools and ballparks. My kiddos are grown now, but I have spent many days and Friday nights at football fields, softball parks, wrestling facilities, basketball gyms, pools, and track fields.
